1st Amendment

The 1st Amendment of the Bill of Rights states:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

This means that every United States Citizen has the freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition.

You can not use the freedom of speech for threatening someones safety or threatening to do harm to government officials.

Freedom of religion means you can practice any religion and the government cannot make laws that favor a certain religion.

Freedom of Press means you can created and write in newspaper and in media and on the internet.

Freedom of assembly means you assemble meetings peacefully.

Freedom of Petition means you have the right to challenge the  government on something you agree on.
